Forbes - Profile on Kim Shui
Womenswear designer Kim Shui's aesthetic has been described as ?all over the place.? A Chinese woman born in the States who grew up in Italy, she puts red fur on a purple plaid skirt and pierces a $198 pair of red leather pants with a metal waist closure that looks like a nipple ring. A signature piece is a sheer lace bodysuit worn by Kylie Jenner and Solange Knowles. Cardi B is also a client as is model Maye Musk, mother of Elon. Musk wore a $1,700 dress of snakeskin print leather. Shui's work has been featured in Vogue, Elle, The New York Times, Harpers Bazaar, W, Interview and Vogue Italia. New York Times - Chasing Fashion’s Cutting Edge
Dustin Pittman’s gaze roamed the bustling back office of Century 21 on Cortlandt Street, where Kim Shui was prepping her fashion show. In an instant, he found his mark. She was China Lee, who would be modeling one of the giddily mismatched plaids and brocades Ms. Shui planned to unveil a couple of floors below…
Vogue - Kim Shui Delivers Conceptual Cool for the Kylie Jenner, Cardi B Crowd
A stone’s throw from the Oculus in Lower Manhattan, Century 21’s corporate shopping tower contains a glorious clash of things: Bargain basics sit alongside hand-pieced Dior jackets that have landed on clearance racks, often ripped or stained along the collar. It is a treasure trove for fans of ironic fashion—the ideal spot for Kim Shui to reveal her Spring 2018 collection this weekend, a next-level meditation on high-low culture…

i-d - kim shui looks to extreme sports and chinatown shopkeepers
Kim Shui showed an extreme sports-inspired fall/winter 18 collection in the rainy Meatpacking district on Saturday. American-born, Italian-raised, and Central Saint Martins-educated, Shui’s collection was full of confidence. It was set to girly power-pop songs and featured gargantuan puffer coats, plus pointy fashion-killer boots by friends Jeffrey Campbell and Sanam. “Fall/winter 18 was about asking what would the Kim Shui girl do in the intense reality that we live in?” the designer told i-D…

Coveteur.com - MEET THE DESIGNER MAKING LACE JUMPSUITS FOR KYLIE AND SOLANGE
I promised myself I’d only buy one thing at the Kim Shui sample sale. Instead I bought four: a mini camo-print skirt with lace and black tulle, a jacket with pink sequins and silver leather straps, a reptile-print coat with a red collar and blue faux fur sleeves, and a long gingham-and-white floral lace dress that made five people stop me on the street within a couple of hours, one woman telling me, “That is the sexiest dress I’ve ever seen!” I told her I appreciated the compliment and that, yes, I agree…..
Ravelin - Kim Shui Spring/Summer 2019 - Ravelin’s review of the brand’s latest runway show for NYFW.
Like one of our other SS 2019 darlings — Discount Universe — Kim Shui is a young designer with VFiles connection. Shui has been a citizen of the world since childhood, with a background that includes the US (where she was born), Rome, and London (where she studied at Central St. Martin’s). Whether or not this international background influenced her designs is a question that only she can answer, but looking at the Spring/Summer 2019 collection, one suspect there is. This becomes particularly apparent in the mixing of the cheongsam style which has its origins in China with tie-dying, a process made famous by the American hippy….
Office Magazine - Kim Shui's Milkshake
This fashion week Kim Shui brought us a tie-dyed fantasy made up of beautifully collaged ensembles, bursting with color and sex appeal. An all-star cast of models strutted down the runway to remixed early 2000s power anthems—and yes that obviously includes Kelis' “Milkshake.”…

Cools.com - Kim Shui Is Redefining What It Means To “Dress Sexy”
Mariah Carey’s “We Belong Together” blasted from the speakers as the runway was finally cleared of photographers fulfilling their content quota for the day. Now stuffed into their seats, showgoers started to sing along, iPhones held high in the air. The sudden sounds of a record being scratched broke the veiled nostalgia and was replaced by bass, bass, bass and a digitized voice that whispered, “Kim Shui, Kim Shui.” On cue, the first model appeared in a tangerine-colored snakeskin/floral brocade jacket and started to strut….

Paper Magazine - Kim Shui Included a Key 'Mulan' Reference
Kim Shui's spring 2019 collection was all about deconstruction (paging Derrida). Panels flew off pant legs, white sleeves billowed in the air. "You can reconstruct the garments and piece them back together," she said. "We ripped some parts, and everything can be worn buttoned, unbuttoned."….
